Holy Rummy - Responsible Gaming

Holy Rummy responsible gaming: how to set deposit and time limits, recognise problem-gambling warning signs, self-exclude, and reach confidential 18+ support helplines.

Play within your limits

Holy Rummy is a skill-based card game designed for entertainment, and keeping it enjoyable starts with deciding on a firm budget before you open the app. Choose an amount in rupees you can comfortably afford to lose, similar to what you might spend on a meal out or a movie, and stop the moment that figure is reached. Never fund your game from savings, borrowed money, or household expenses such as rent or groceries.

Pair your money limit with a time limit. Decide in advance whether you will play for 30 minutes or an hour, then log off when the clock runs out regardless of your current score. Fatigue weakens decision-making and leads to impulsive, high-stake moves. Short, planned sessions with regular breaks keep your mind sharp and your play disciplined.

Never chase a loss. Depositing more specifically to recover money you have already lost is one of the most harmful patterns in gaming. Each hand is independent; past results have no bearing on the next deal. If you notice yourself reloading your wallet to "win it back," close the app and step away entirely.

Warning signs of problem gambling

Problem gambling develops gradually through small habit shifts that are easy to dismiss. Financial warning signs include consistently spending beyond your set budget, dipping into EMI or bill money to play, borrowing from friends or family to deposit, and hiding UPI transactions from people close to you.

Behavioural signs are equally telling: feeling restless or irritable when you cannot play, lying about the time or money you spend on Holy Rummy, neglecting work or family because of gaming sessions, and repeatedly failing to cut back despite genuinely wanting to. Emotionally, using the game to escape stress, feeling guilt after a loss followed by an immediate urge to play again, or experiencing sharp mood swings tied to winning and losing are all serious indicators.

Recognising any of these signs early, in yourself or someone close to you, is the most important step. The limit tools and self-exclusion options described below let you take direct, immediate action on your account without waiting for support.

Deposit, loss and time limits

Holy Rummy provides three built-in controls you can activate directly from your account settings. A deposit limit caps how much cash you can add to your wallet per day, week, or month. A loss limit halts play automatically once your net losses hit the threshold you set within the same period. A session time limit logs you out after a chosen number of minutes and prompts a break before you can return.

All three limits take effect immediately when you apply them. If you later wish to increase a limit, a mandatory 72-hour cooling-off period applies before the change activates, giving you time to reconsider. Reductions, however, apply straight away, you can always tighten your controls without delay.

To set or adjust your limits, navigate to My Account → Responsible Gaming → Limits inside the Holy Rummy app. Review these figures regularly, especially after any change in your financial situation, to ensure they still reflect what you can genuinely afford.

Self-exclusion and cool-off

If you need a stronger break, Holy Rummy offers two options. A cool-off period temporarily suspends your account for a short defined duration, 24 hours, 7 days, or 30 days. During this time you cannot log in, deposit, or join any table. It is ideal when you feel your play is becoming compulsive but you are not ready for a permanent exit.

For a more serious concern, self-exclusion closes your account for a minimum of six months or permanently. Once activated, it cannot be reversed before the chosen period expires. Any open sessions are ended, your wallet balance is refunded, and marketing communications from Holy Rummy are stopped immediately. To activate either option, go to My Account → Responsible Gaming → Self-Exclusion or contact our support team directly.
